Everything You Need To Succeed With Franchise Business

Buying into a franchise is an exciting and literally an overnight way to start your own business and begin profiting from day one. There is obviously a large upfront expense when acquiring your franchise but if chosen wisely, your business can remain a success for years to come.

What are the benefits of making the decision to purchase a franchise? To name a few we have listed the top three pros of buying into a franchise.

1. You will have the opportunity to be in the ‘inside circle’ so to speak when it comes to networking with other franchise owners. Many franchises have meetings, websites, or conferences where all members gather together to share information and learn from each other.

2. Franchises generally have a proven track record and when you buy into one it is not uncommon to quickly turn a profit and create cash-flow immediately. Combine this benefit with the training that the company provides and you cannot lose.

3. Unlike starting a business from scratch with no past performance, a franchise is one that is literally a turn-key operation. These proven systems almost guarantees you long-term sustainability

4. Extensive training provided by the parent company is typically in integral part of a franchise package. If you start your own business from scratch then there is nobody to train you, nobody to lead the way, etc. A franchise should provide all of this for you.

5. Advertising costs can be cut significantly because many parent company franchisers will offer you part of a national advertising medium like Television or Radio commercials. Think of the company Subway for example. All Subway stores are franchises that you and I can purchase but you hear national advertisements all day on the radio and T.V. Commercials brought by the parent company.

It is wise to make an all around and balanced assessment before spending your life savings on a franchise opportunity. I know that you are probably very excited about embarking on your new business but do not fall into the trap of seeing only what you want to see. In other words, you must take stock of the downsides of buying a franchise and ask some very pertinent questions, for example…

1. Even though it is my own business do I still have to answer to someone?
Yes, you do. Sure the business may be ran and operated by you but you still have to answer to the franchiser. They are the boss. Each franchise has particular sets of rules and policies that, if not followed, may result in the loss of your business in addition to lawsuits against you.

2. Do I still have to pay anything to the franchiser after I already purchased the business?
Unfortunately it is typical to pay royalties to the top owners of the franchise network regardless if your company is making decent profits or not. Unless the business is successful then this rule may be a huge monkey on your back.

3. If I paid money to own the franchise, can I run the business however I see fit?
Generally you are not allowed to change the company procedures or their way of doing business. If you started your own company then this is not a problem but if you are the kind of person who wants the freedom to create your own systems, set your own rules, and mold the company into your own vision, then buying into a franchise may not suit you.

4. Since I am paying so much money for this franchise will there be somebody to help supervise and motivate me each week?
Only self starters need apply! This means that once you are up and running then it’s all up to you to make your business successful. It’s up to you to run your business more efficiently. Of course there may be marketing help, initial training classes, and updated company info provided by the parent company but beyond that – your on your own.
